Comprehension I

Decoding is one thing. Makign meaning is a new new world. Do we only focus on the four corners of the text? What about critical literacy? Does time and environment matter? We often define comprehension as involving the reader, the text, and the activity situated in a social context but what does this mean for the classroom?
